The smallest apartment I've ever lived in was by far the one in Hong Kong.

1 Little Black Dress, 365 Days

My friend, Connie, forwarded me the below video link to The Uniform Project, an endeavor that her ex-coworker had started almost a year ago. Sheena Matheiken pledges to wear the same LBD (she recycles 7 of the same dress) for 365 days to fundraise for Akanksha’s School Project. All contributions go towards providing uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in Indian slums.

Currently, The UP is counting down to a few days left with almost $75k raised so far. These are some of my fave outfits. They inspire me to think about sustainable clothing and how I can be more creative in using clothes and recycling old ones!

I'm a Man

Here is a hilaaaaarious Old Spice commercial if you haven't already seen it. Actor and former NFL wide receiver, Isaiah Mustafa, is getting a lot more acting offers now.

A Behind the Scenes Clip from my film, "Who is Candy Bernardino?"

I recently directed and produced a film, "Who is Candy Bernardino?" and worked on it for the better part of 2009. Thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of the writer, cast, crew, post-production team, supporters, family and friends, the project is nearing completion. The film is about a rich Italian grandfather who fakes his own death to escape his money-grubbing family, only to find himself in an open casket needing to sneeze.

Check out a short behind the scenes clip from the film. Alexis Verbeck, an up-and-coming actor, is only seven years old but was one of the most professional actors I've worked with. Completely lost my appetite after watching FOOD, INC.

My new quest: buy and eat food that is:

- From a source / company that treats both workers and animals humanely
- Organic
- Locally grown
- Hormone-free
- In season
- Antibiotic-free
- Not genetically modified
- Not cloned (when did meat from cloned animals even begin selling at supermarkets?)
- Not processed
- High fructose corn syrup-free

Surf's Up

I first heard about Laird Hamilton, king of big-wave and tow-in surfing, a few years ago and recently came across this video. Amazing.



The waves at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach weren't quite 70 feet high, but I had a blast watching the pros surf. Kelly Slater had a perfect 10 at the open.








Brett Simpson went on to win the men's finals and the biggest prize in surfing competition history, $100K.


I'm motivated to try out the waves in LA finally!
